“In Support of Excellence in Preventable Blindness, Vision and Diabetes”

To create awareness of preventable blindness and provide monetary help to eradicate and/or cure preventable eye diseases for the unprivileged and needy – Locally and Globally.

Welcome to TNLC

Toronto Netralya Lions Club (TNLC) received and celebrated their Charter Night on June 28, 2009. The name of the club “Netralya” which means House of Eyes, in the Sanskrit language, was chosen to resonate with one of the missions of the Lions Club International – which is “SIGHT FIRST” – inspired by the famous Deaf-blind Helen Keller.

Since its inception, the TNLC is actively involved in various services and activities, such as fundraising for humanitarian causes, locally and globally, for immediate relief or long-term projects and also collaborating with other Lions Clubs in their efforts to serve their respective communities.

We are focused on supporting sight, hunger, the environment, childhood cancer and diabetes, to help address some of the biggest challenges facing humanity

All members of the TNLC are encouraged to participate in the plethora of social activities available to them, such as yoga sessions, dancercise, bridge classes, in addition to knowledgeable financial and health related presentations. These opportunities keep club members involved in a meaningful and mindful way,and provides them occasions for continued personal betterment and social growth.

The TNLC fully embraces, and is constantly involved in the mandate and mission of Lions Club International – something it takes great pride in. This clearly shows with all of their uplifting endeavors and proven success.

LIONS CREED AND CODE OF ETHICS

  • To Show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by industrious application to the end that I may merit a reputation for quality of service.

  • To Seek success and to demand all fair remuneration or profit as my just due, but to accept no profit or success at the price of my own self-respect lost because of unfair advantage taken or because of questionable acts on my part.

  • To Remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down another’s; to be loyal to my clients or customers and true to myself.
  • Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action toward others, to resolve such doubts against myself.

  • To Hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true friendship exists not on account of the service performed by one another, but that true friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the spirit in which it is given.

  • Always to bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state, and my community, and to give them my unswerving loyalty in word, act and deed. To give them freely of my time, labor and means.

  • To Aid others by giving my sympathy to those in distress, my aid to the weak, and my substance to the needy.

  • To Be Careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise; to build up and not destroy.
